Permutations of the Self is an interactive, three-dimensional mixed media sculpture exploring the dynamic, ever-changing nature of identity. At the core of the artwork are four recessed niches housing multi-faceted wooden blocks. By turning the hand-cranks on the sides of the frame, viewers engage the internal gears to spin the blocks, continually altering the facial features within. Surrounding these interactive centers, the pop cubist painting incorporates symbolic sensory elements—representing how external perceptions, memory, and thought shape our internal landscape.
